United Beverage Retailers of Arkansas was formed with the purpose of unifying independent wine and spirits stores across Arkansas, and to provide industry enrichment opportunities and policy representation to licensed beverage retailers.
UBRA strives to be the eyes and ears for the industry, alerting members when trouble or opportunity arises and representing their interests before legislative and regulatory bodies.
UBRA provides education, training, networking opportunities, and other value-added services that will enhance individual member’s abilities to effectively and profitably operate their businesses and serve their customers.
UBRA's services are intended to benefit business owners, including programming that provides opportunities for:
Professional Development: Continuing education and professional development are integral to successful leadership. The association could provide professional development opportunities in the form of workshops, seminars, conferences and networking opportunities. The peer-to-peer learning and mentorship opportunities that the association can provide will allow members to pool their knowledge and benefit from each other’s experiences.
Learning Best Practices: Like any industry, beverage retailers have best practices specific to their line of work. The association can provide a forum for promulgating industry-wide best practices, and keep members informed on emerging trends.
Industry Information/News: Access to current industry news allows members to take advantage of changes or developments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
Lobbying/Government Affairs Support: UBRA can provide members with legislative, regulatory and administrative monitoring, develop legislative and local advocacy programs, and proactively inform members when issues arise. With a solid membership base, UBRA can be a power voice for the industry.
Local Campaign(s): Develop tactical strategies to combat liquor law changes that hurt independent retailers. UBRA will develop toolkits that arm and empower members to undertake efforts in their communities.
PAC Creation: Creating a PAC helps convey to policymakers and UBRA members that the association is serious about advocacy. It is a valuable tool to help get UBRA’s message in front of elected officials and help elect policymakers that support UBRA priorities.
Professional Services Procurement: UBRA can assist members in procuring services and provide technical assistance to members.
United We Stand. Divided We Fall.
